SupercleanQ passes the first EU evaluation step

The fourth meeting of SupercleanQ (www.supercleanq.eu), the three-year project of research funded under the Seventh Framework Program (FP7), took place on May 15-16, 2013. The meeting has been held at the Research Executive Agency (REA) with the official presence of two  representatives of the European Commission which positively evaluate the work carried out by SupercleanQ Consortium so far. Important developments have been achieved regarding the new method of detection of multilayer post-consumed plastics material. Bottles and packaging manufactured with multilayer plastics material are not recognizable by the actual available sorting technologies. Consequently, part of the collected plastic packaging waste for recovery risk to be addressed to landfill.
