Suction-blow moulding

ST Soffiaggio Tecnica, based in Monza (Italy), has installed an Aspi 150 suction-blow moulding machine at DuPont's European technical centre in Geneva. This machine is based on the "suction blow" technology for producing 3D components with complex shape for the automotive and appliance industries.
The machine has a tiebarless clamping unit which facilitates mould assembly and reduces plant setup time. Radial thickness control is achieved via the movement of two opposing cylinders for more homogeneous heating. Die changeover is very quick (approx. 15 minutes) and the patented suction system exploits the Venturi technology, which, coupled with a circuit with proportional valve, allows 500-point profile parameter setting.
