Italian-Venezuelan cooperation
The afternoon of Monday 28 May saw the arrival, at the headquarters of CESAP srl in Verdellino-Zingonia, of a Venezuelan delegation that was led by the country's deputy minister of planning and scientific and technical activities, Mr Guy Vernaez, and also included the president of the Institute of Technology Foundation, Mr Arturo Gil, and the president of the National Centre for Chemical Technology, Mr José Biomorgi. The visit was part of a cooperation program directly involving ASSOCOMAPLAST (the Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Moulds Manufacturers' Association).
CESAP, which is managed by ASSOCOMAPLAST in collaboration with Confindustria Bergamo and other local and sector associations, is a centre that provides training and assistance to processors.
The visit had been on the agenda for some time, having been planned during a series of meetings in Venezuela, which had been set up for the ASSOCOMAPLAST management through the ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) office in Caracas. The purpose of these meetings was to work out a cooperation program to promote specialist technical training, which the Venezuelan authorities are keen to introduce in the short term in order to help improve the quality of the products and parts produced by local plastic processors. Ultimately, their aim is to achieve greater competitiveness in the domestic and Latin-American markets.
