Two new independent directors at Eigenmann & Veronelli

Mario Paterlini and Hidde van der Wal have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of the Eigenmann & Veronelli board. Effective from February 2025, the new independent directors will join the current five-member board. Their appointment represents an important step in the company’s broader strategy to strengthen corporate governance, with the aim of enhancing expertise and supporting ongoing international development in line with the group’s strategic vision. These two independent directors will bring fresh perspectives that will guide Eigenmann & Veronelli in adopting industry best practices.
Mario Paterlini has had a distinguished career in the chemical industry. Since 2010, he has been CEO of Gruppo Sapio. He has a proven track record in international markets, acquired primarily in the US and the EMEA region, and is well-versed in governance, change management, M&A, and productivity and continuous development programmes. Furthermore, he is an independent director of Vitale Barberis Canonico and president of the Gruppo Idrogeno Vettore Energetico at Federchimica. Hidde van der Wal has extensive leadership experience in the chemical distribution industry. From 2000 to 2023, he worked as CEO of Barentz, driving growth across Europe and initiating its expansion into the Americas and Asia, transforming the company into a global player.
