Bausano celebrates 80 years at Plast 2026

In June, Bausano celebrates and showcases 80 years of continuous innovation by taking part in three trade fairs dedicated to the plastics supply chain: France Innovation Plasturgie (FIP), scheduled to take place at Eurexpo in Lyon, Equiplast, at the Gran Via exhibition centre in Barcelona, both from 2 to 5 June, and Plast at Fiera Milano in Rho (Milan), from 9 to 12 June. Three strategic appointments designed to give prominence to a cutting-edge technological offering, the result of the integration of advanced mechanics and digitalisation.

“In 80 years, Bausano has built its success on the ability to leverage expertise developed over time, transforming it into a strategic tool to anticipate market evolutions. An approach that today translates into increasingly efficient, digital solutions, focused on ensuring the operational continuity of its clients,” stated Clemente Bausano, CEO of the company. “A milestone that the company will celebrate at Plast with an exclusive signature party at its stand, turning its trade fair presence into an opportunity for engagement and sharing with clients and partners.”

The simultaneous participation in three international events demonstrates Bausano’s ability to maintain a strong presence across Europe and its commitment to promoting a smarter, connected, and more sustainable industrial model.

At Plast, Bausano is exhibiting a highly customised pipe production line, which combines the E-GO 45/37 single-screw extruder with an E-GO 45/30 co-extruder, arranged in an A/B/A layout configuration for the processing of multilayer HDPE pipes. The line’s architecture, extremely compact, also includes a PO 3 63 multilayer head, complete with its filter changer, connected to the co-extruder via an adapter equipped with a manifold for the distribution and adjustment of the inner and outer pipe layers. Completing the extruder solution are an HMI interface and a gravimetric dosing system with weight-per-metre control. Designed for the production of pipe diameters ranging from 16 to 63 mm external diameter, the extrusion head is further distinguished by a screw distribution divided into three spiral distributors, featuring high-flow channels for a homogeneous allocation of the three layers across the entire pipe wall, while simultaneously ensuring superior flexibility, with material ratios available in 5/90/5 and 33/33/33 variants.

In the spotlight at Plast will be Sphera, through which Bausano confirms its position among the leading companies in the sector to offer advanced integration of artificial intelligence in plastic pipe extrusion processes. The digital ecosystem, marking the advent of a new production paradigm, comprises two native, complementary modules, Pharos and Ranger, presented for the first time in Italy at Plast but already operational in numerous field installations.

The Pharos IIoT architecture continuously acquires and processes both process and machine data: from temperatures to pressures, from rotational speeds to energy consumption, and including operational states and mechanical indicators, while the advanced Ranger AI platform interprets this information in real time and relative to actual operating conditions, integrating it with the machine’s historical data, technical manuals, Bausano procedures, and the client’s specific documentation.

The platform is enriched with new functionalities: the advanced parameter monitoring with AI assistant, available on demand, evolves towards full interoperability between systems, providing proactive operational reccomendations via the HMI, enabling dynamic interaction with artificial intelligence. Resulting from the combination of Generative and Agentic AI models, Ranger is now capable of autonomously reading the data generated by Pharos and acting in advance with corrective guidance, in order to prevent deviations and optimise performance. At the same time, the sensor system enables predictive maintenance logic, reducing machine downtime and improving the overall reliability of the plants.

“Bausano also transforms its own history into an active element of innovation, reinterpreting its industrial origins in the light of the most advanced technologies,” commented the CEO, Clemente Bausano. “The roots of 1946 are given new life through a video created with AI, which pays tribute to the founder and revitalises historical footage: a visual narrative in which tradition and cutting-edge innovation coexist and mutually reinforce each other.”
