PETcore Europe has a new executive director

PETcore Europe announced that Roberto Bertaggia has been appointed as Executive Director as of 23 November 2023. He replaces Martin Stephan, who previously served in the role. Roberto Bertaggia has spent over 30 years of his career in managing both complex contractual sales and coordination roles. He has deep experience across the PET industry including recycling technologies, regulatory and business development. Moreover, he is a Past President of Petcore Europe, serving in the post back in 2017.

“We welcome Roberto Bertaggia and are convinced that his experience and competencies will be invaluable as we work to deliver and sharpen the targets defined in the Petcore mission and move towards an environmental transition with the aim of maximizing the circularity of our business. We thank Martin for the support and dedication that he has shown as Executive Directorover the past six months, and we wish him all the best in his new role as Chief Business Officer at Global Bioenergies”, Antonello Ciotti, President at Petcore Europe said commenting on his appointment.

The industry is called on to not only be in compliance with sustainability concepts but to also be proactive in offering solutions. Petcore Europe has a major role to play in coordinating efforts and resources to achieve the required targets and I am looking forward to providing my contribution too”.

With 157 members, PETcore Europe represents the entire PET industry (monomers and PET manufacturers, converters, brand-owners, retailers and recyclers) at the European Union institutions and other stakeholders.
