Polymers in Austria

In the past five years, Upper Austria has positioned itself internationally as one of Europe's most innovative regions for the plastics industry, partially thanks to the "Innovative Upper Austria 2010 Plus" programme supported by the local government, which has allocated a special status to Research & Development. The resulting dense network of research facilities in the polymer sector attracts the attention of many plastics companies and scientific institutes.
Within the Kunststoff-Cluster (Plastics Cluster), administered by Clusterland Oberösterreich, the second international Polymer Congress will take place in Linz on April 13 and 14, 2011. This event aims to promote exchange of expert know-how and the establishment of contacts with decision-makers. The second edition of the "Plastics & Product Design" award will reward the most functional design and innovative solutions.
