Safe extruders

A workshop on the EN 1114-1 standard related to extruder safety has been held on June 22 at Cesap in Verdellino-Zingonia (Bergamo, Italy). The standard provides that the machine parts subjected to the risks of internal overlapping are protected with sensitive devices to ensure the most reliable intervention.
This level of reliability is referred to the EN ISO 13849-1 standard, which establishes that the control device must be able to deactivate all systems generating pressure.
The Impact melt pressure sensors from Gefran comply with such a requirement, as proved by the fact that on December 2010 TÜV Rheinland granted the conformity certification for Impact sensors.
