Waste to China

The importation of plastic wastes through the Canton, capital of Guangdong Province, into China decreased by 80% in the September and October of this year. This appears to be the result of the new governmental measures to increase control - finally - of the high volumes of plastic waste imported into the country, which amounted to 7.4 million tons in 2010 (26% higher than 2002 levels).
