Compounds for bicomponent injection moulding and extrusion

The new Neogol series of elastomeric compounds from API have a matrix made of olefin block copolymers (OBC) and a chemical structure that gives excellent resistance to UV light and ageing. These characteristics allow to obtain high aesthetic qualities also with large surface areas and fine thicknesses.
These compounds offer great formulation versatility that results in a wide range of hardnesses (from 35 and 90 Shore A), suitable for several applications. In addition, they have a degree of crystallization higher than common olefin copolymers and derived compounds with advantages such as a reduction of the cycle times.
The Neogol family is particularly suitable for bicomponent injection moulding and extrusion. It can replace PVC, to obtain halogen free articles, and the common TPE, when aesthetic properties, fluidity and ability to fill the mould are required in the manufacture of product with large surfaces and thin wall. Moreover, meeting the increasing demand for styrene free materials, it is particularly suitable for manufacturing hygienic products, childcare articles, toys and automotive components.
