IMS relaunches the Turra brand

On June 26 and 27, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., IMS Deltamatic is going to open its facility in Calcinate (near Bergamo, Italy) to converters and suppliers and show several machines manufactured by its business unit Turra, a historical manufacturer of vertical machines for traditional injection moulding, comoulding and insert moulding taken over by IMS in 2010.
The vertical moulding machines by Turra can be used, for example, to overmould items using inserts of several sizes, with the possibility of choosing between the manual or the automatic loading mode. Available in three versions (without table, with linear table or with rotary table) and with clamping forces from 60 to 120 tons, these machines stand out for their high-tech content and their ease of use.
The open house event will also focus on liquid silicone rubber (LSR) injection moulding, thanks to the cooperation between IMS Deltamatic and Guzzini Engineering: the two companies have developed a special LSR injection system, already installed on a Turra machine exhibited at K 2013 and mounted on a injection moulding machine on show at the Plastpol trade fair from 27 to 30 May in Kielce, Poland.
"Currently, we have invested heavily in the industrialisation of Turra machines, with the production of standard machines as well as new models for specific applications. Starting from a strictly national market (mainly focused on Lombardy), we are now moving towards selling these moulding machines abroad too," said Daniele Vaglietti, business strategy director and head of IMS Deltamatic marketing and sales. The company became member of Assocomaplast through its Turra business unit.
"This open house event," added Vaglietti, "is aimed firstly at reviving the Turra brand, a historical Italian name, as well as at allowing the participants to visit our production facilities, where they will be able to discover the company's new trends and innovative strength. Since 2000, in fact, the IMS Deltamatic group has been growing by building on its own strength - penetrating new markets and adding new items to its range of products - and through new acquisitions. These included Turra, in 2010, and lastly the German company Goebel, in 2013, which operates in the converting sector, manufacturing mainly cutting and rewinding machines for paper and plastic films, such as BOPP, BOPET, etc.".
During the open house event, the following machines will be on show:
- vertical moulding machine without table, with a clamping force of 80 tons and 2 tiebars (type NT-80-2C), for LSR moulding, in cooperation with Guzzini Engineering
- vertical moulding machine with linear table, featuring a clamping force of 60 tons (type ST-60)
-  vertical moulding machine with rotary table, featuring a clamping force of 60 tons (type RT-60), equipped with an automation system (Scara-type robot) for loading and unloading operations
- vertical moulding machine without table, featuring a clamping force of 60 tons and 2 tiebars (type NT-60-2C), equipped with tensioner, heater and peripheral system for the plastification of diamond wires
- three vertical moulding machines without table, featuring a clamping force of 60 tons and 2 tiebars (type NT-60-2C).
