Sales and turnover up for the fourth consecutive year
In a recent news release, Macchi, the Italian manufacturer of film extrusion plants, informs that for the fourth year in a row it has posted an increase in sales and turnover in the main regions of the world. Thanks to a widespread network of offices and agents, Macchi has been able to extend its presence in the most important world markets, strengthening its prominent role among the world’s major manufacturers of blown film extrusion lines.
The lion’s share has been taken as usual by Europe followed by the Asia/Pacific region, with 45% and 30% of the overall sales, respectively.
Africa also confirmed its role as a major outlet market for the Italian manufacturer. This is a rapidly developing area where the user friendliness and sturdiness typical of Macchi technological offering, coupled with a good price/performance ratio, are particularly suited to meet the requirements of local processors.
As far as the individual products are concerned, the 5-layer POD technology was been the best seller at Macchi: in 2016 POD systems accounted for almost 40% of Macchi world sales and have also started to make inroads in the Asia/Pacific region, where during 2017 the company will deliver and install two POD lines, one in China and one in Australia. These plants have definitely closed the gap with the 3-layer coextrusion lines.
2017 has therefore started with a very positive mood – the release concludes – sales have continued with the same momentum as in 2016, and a number of new solutions are being developed.
