Electric machines for... electronic cigarettes

Two completely electric injection blow moulding machines with a maximum capacity of 250 ml have been developed by Meccanoplastica to produce 10-ml LDPE vials weighing 2 g to contain the recharges for electronic cigarettes.
These two units of the JET55/L model can reach 55 tons of clamping force (50 in the injection station and 5 in the blow moulding station). Given the absence of pollutants and noise, the model is particularly suitable for use in the pharmaceutical industry and thus for this specific application. The two machines are equipped with 18-cavity mould set that provides a cycle time of 10.60 seconds, corresponding to an hourly production of 6,000 pieces. These numbers are ideal for the European market, where this application has been well received with an upward trend.
