The hot/cold mixing combination

In recent years, the flooring market has shown a strong increase in LVT - Luxury Vinyl Tile - demand worldwide, thanks to its advantages in relation to durability and minimal maintenance requirements.

 

The Italian company PROMIXON, specialized in the manufacture of hot/cold mixing plants for PVC dry-blending, has heavily invested in product development and strengthened its supply with high technology improvements in several fields (PVC, WPC, LVT, compounding etc.).

From the smallest to the biggest size, Promixon X-BLEND hot/cold mixing systems can be completely customized to variable filling level and to process a wide range of formulations, always oriented to the reduction of mixing times, granting best mixing quality and optimizing energy consumption.

 

Main features and improvements

The hot/cold mixing combination got as beating heart a multiple stages high intensity mixing tool in stainless steel with tungsten carbide coating for wear protection. It also has inclined blades to ensure the best mixing vortex: 20° of inclination for the upper stage and 30° the lower stage.

 

The internal surfaces, in contact with material, are all mirror polished for Heating Mixer and Cooler, in order to prevent any contamination while changing recipe, to avoid residues after mixing cycles and to reduce cleaning and maintenance times.

 

Both Heating Mixer and Cooler have all surfaces in contact with the process material mirror polished in order to reduce cleaning and maintenance times and to avoid residues at the end of mixing cycle in order to eliminate any contamination issues when changing formulation and process conditions batch to batch. Giving the mixing plant the necessary versatility, allowing our customer to develop new products and explore the use of new raw materials.

 

The R&D and technical department, always studying new solutions for technology improvement, developed:

- a more performing water circuit in the cooling jacket, reducing the cooling times;

- automation solution at the highest customization level;

- high hourly output, maintaining a high-quality level;

- improved accessibility to the cooler for an easier cleaning.

 

The panel for monitoring and setting the mixing plant’s process parameters is intuitive and easy to use, with latest technology touchscreen. The control system is completed by remote connections, with the possibility to operate, in case of needs, at thousands of km of distance, reducing machine downtimes and intervention costs.
