Alessandro Grecu wins the Gold Medal at the Constantinus International Award with a Lean Plastic project to redesign the Production Layout

Alessandro Grecu, consultant for lean operations, founder of Lean Plastic, won the gold medal at the Constantinus International Award, marking a historic moment as the first Italian to receive this award.

The awards ceremony took place on 9 October in Yerevan, Armenia, during a prestigious gala ceremony attended by eleven global finalists from nine Countries.

The winning project
The winning project is the innovative "Redesign of the Industrial Site: Lean Efficient Layout with Green Footprint and predisposition of principles of Industry 4.0". This project, carried out at IBS Moulding, highlighted the effectiveness of a Lean Plastic approach in revolutionizing the operational and organizational flow. The intervention has combined operational excellence and environmental sustainability, demonstrating how Lean principles can create tangible value for both the entrepreneur, employees and society.

The Constantinus International Award
Instituted in 2011 by CMC-Global (ICMCI), the Constantinus International Award is considered one of the Oscars of Management Consulting. It awards annually the best projects worldwide, evaluating them through rigorous criteria such as quality of advice, innovation, efficiency and strategic value brought to the client.

An Impulse for Business Operations
The winning project demonstrates that through a strategic approach and the adoption of Lean methodologies, appropriately specialized and verticalized (as Lean Plastic represents), it is possible to obtain significant and concrete results on several levels:
- Operational Excellence with a focus on efficiency, lean flows, plastic solutions and best practices, overall process, operations optimization;
- Waste hunting and cost containment, looking for and developing efficiency, the whole company is involved in continuous improvement with a significant impact on cost containment;
- Environmental sustainability, integrating green solutions and values possible starting from an improvement of the cell and line edge, material management and overall impact;
- Future competitiveness in the Digital Lean Plastic perspective, promoting the lean culture, strongly interpreted and calibrated for a fast and effective application to the world of plastics, also integrated with the Digital logic of Industry 4.0.

The positive impact of projects like this, actually means that innovating the company, flows and operations, is feasible, thanks to layout logistic techniques, contribution of the Lean Production methodologies, the Lean Plastic approach (specific for the vertical of plastics), other management and industrial engineering tools, and the fundamental share of contribution that comes from human capital itself.

Conclusions
The world gold medal win confirms that Lean Plastic is the reference approach for entrepreneurs and professionals who want to transform their plastics companies and achieve Operational Excellence.
